1. the proper hardware and software should be in place and readily available to the clinician and health care organization before EHR system are implemented.
2. content should be reported using standard vocabulary to describe clinical findings
3. the user interface should allow easy access to and entering of clinical information, presenting all pertinent data ina manner that facilitates rapid recognition of and response to clinical problems.
4. appropriate, qualified personnel like software designers, developers and trainers and implementation and maintenance staff must be hired.
5. wor flow and communication should be ensured by thorougly testing the EHR systems before implemented to hospitals and clinical settings,allowing any problems to be addressed and corrected before the system is in place.
6. neccessary organizational characteristics include ongoing surveilance system to report errors and identify obstacles to appropriate care, thereby facilitating innovation, exploration and continual improvement
7. to protect client safety and privacy, the federal rules and regulation should be followed
8. ongoing monitoring and oversight are vitally important to the success of the switch from paper-based patients record to electronic-based poatients record
