immunization information systems

immunization information systems (IISs) are confidential, computerized information systems that collect and consolidate vaccination data from multiple health-care providers, generate reminder and recall notifications, and assess vaccination coverge with a define geographic area. it has been implemented in America since 2008. A CDC program have its goal to achieve >95% participation of 50 states, five cities and the district of columbia among children <6> for me, i think it will be benificial for us to have IISs. in this case we can have a more accurate data about the immunizations of children in a certain area. like when we are in a community health center, sometimes they forget their immunization cards, thus one cannot be provided with the immunization. if we have IISs we can have the data of these patients in our systems which will be convenient for both the health care provider and the patient.
though, i think it will be costly have this system like if a certain city or municipality actually lack resources.
